Industrial vision developer

Job Description

The vision developer is responsible for the development of all or part of a vision and optical industry project, from a hardware and software point of view. This project is often part of a more general project comprising mechanical and/or electrical development respecting the customer's needs, internal constraints and applicable rules and quality standards. They are able to demonstrate creativity while prioritising already-approved solutions. They regularly interact with their colleagues in the context of permanent optimisation of know-how.

Key responsibilities

- Contributing to the establishment of specifications facilitating the development of the project with the aim of identifying the technical solution (hardware and software) meeting the customer's needs and assessing ? in their area of expertise - the corresponding workload
- Assessing the feasibility of the technical solution and the latter's performances
- Designing and developing pragmatic technical solutions, optimising quality-price-deadline ratios
- Detecting possible deviations (quality, cost, deadline), reporting them and being proactive in their resolution to maintain the project within the deadlines and budget agreed
- Performing all tests required to validate the application's compliance with specifications
- Establishing and updating the documentation at all stages of development
- Analysing the application's limiting cases; finding a solution to specific cases
- guaranteeing professional monitoring of bugs, errors and non-compliances with the aim of resolving them and limiting the chances of recurrence in the future
- Assessing the impact and evaluating specification change requests
- Contributing to the sharing of experiences within the team and participating in technical monitoring in their area of expertise in line with the company's needs
- responsible for the choice of components (camera, lens, lighting) for vision systems and machine configuration
- being responsible for the technical monitoring of vision systems

Profile sought

- Technical knowledge
- Master's in physical sciences or IT (or a Master's in another scientific field) with proven experience in the field or a similar field over 3 years
- Very good knowledge of Cognex Designer or Halcon; experience in C++ (Qt) are preferred
- Knowledge of optics is a benefit
- editorial skills; good oral and written; ability to prepare comprehensive documentation
- Autonomous, ability to find information and apply it
- Able to listen to your contact, analyse their request and respond politely
- Able to take initiatives and set priorities
- Creative, pragmatic, open, able to manage varied projects
- French (reading, speaking and writing) English (reading and writing)
- able to work in a team (project team)
- Rigueur and sense of detail when meeting specifications
- Ability to analyse, able to assess the workload of an activity, critical and constructive thinking
